"Cam-a-thon" is an event benefitting the Cure4Cam Childhood Cancer Foundation that was started in 2014 in memory of Cameron Evans, a Downingtown Area School District student who passed away from leukemia in 2012 at the age of 14. Students raise funds then come together to hear inspirational speakers, spend a whole night awake on their feet, and celebrate their accomplishment!
The idea behind the event was one of "kids inspiring kids", of students learning that community service could be fun, that they can work with adults for a common goal, and that their efforts DO matter and WILL make a difference. What started as a group of 100 students raising $8000 the first year has grown to over 600 students participating, with over $83,000 raised to date. **All proceeds go to help fund much needed childhood cancer research via Cure4Cam.
Fundraising for Cam-a-thon means fundraising for a future without childhood cancer!

not to run FROM something, but to run FOR something,
to be inspired to save a life.
